After missing a week of training we may have been a little rusty, especially given the continued cold weather but the team got stuck in straight from the start and scored a wonderful goal after 15 mins. We had been scraping it out in midfield and had a fair degree of success down the wing but it was Bens long range effort that broke the deadlock, a cracking shot from fully 25 yards that sailed over the keeper and in. Unfortunately we never managed to convert any of our other chances and ended up being beaten by a really quite clinical Gartcairn team.
As disappointing as the result is the attitude and determination of the team was hugely pleasing and some of the combinations of play we managed to put together at times was excellent. A number of really good performances across the team and some extended gametime for many which will help the players and the team as a whole.
So, not the result we would want but a hugely improved attitude and approach from the team which we need to now build on.
Well done to all the players and thank you to all the support from everyone who managed to attend the game today, thank you.
